New cafes seem to always pop up every now and then! In the midst of so many cafes in Jakarta, there’s one that is such a must try for FooDies: Tatei! Located in Green Lake City, West Jakarta, Tatei has an all-white and clean ambience that’s suited for both relaxing and taking aesthetic pictures. Their menus are also unique and worth a try!
The Story Behind
Tatei is a relatively new cafe which first opened its doors at the end of 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic. Recently, they’ve added a new area in their second floor as more customers have taken interest in this lovely cafe. On the third floor, they also launched T Studio for customers who’d like to do a photoshoot.
Signature Menu
Tatei offers a complete range of menus for relaxing, snacking, and eating full course dishes.
For light bites, their signature dish is the madeleines. Madeleines are tiny French sponge cakes with a unique shape that resembles seashells or fans. Tatei’s madeleines come in a wide range of flavors, such as blueberries, dark chocolate, matcha almond, and many more.
Want a heavier meal? You got it! Tatei serves main courses from Western, Japanese, and Indonesian cuisine. Some of the favorites are Spaghetti Carbonara, Tempeh Penyet Rice, dan Hamburg Steak.
Tatei’s drinks are also on their star menus. They have Watermelon Latte and Cinnamon Latte for coffee lovers. They also sell tea-based drinks such as Magic Purple Tea, and Isaphan Tea. You definitely won’t find them in other places!
Location & Ambience
Located in Food City, Green Lake City, you can easily spot Tatei’s building from afar. Its design stands out among other shops around it, with stones of white. Inside, the ambience is also dominated by white color, giving a clean, minimalistic and aesthetic feel. No wonder Tatei has been a go-to destination for taking OOTD pictures since its opening day!
